Question 1

What trims does the Ford F-150 come in?

Accepted Answer

The F-150 lineup spans a wide range of trims. Work-focused entries include the XL and XLT, while the Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited trims add comfort and technology features. The performance-oriented Raptor and Raptor R are the most sought-after off-road variants. Trim availability varies by model year — use the filters to find specific trims in stock.

Question 2

What's the towing capacity of a used Ford F-150?

Accepted Answer

F-150 towing capacity varies significantly by model year, engine, and configuration. Recent F-150s can tow up to 14,000 lbs when properly equipped with the Max Trailer Tow package and a specific engine/axle ratio combination. The 3.5L EcoBoost V6 is generally the highest-towing option in the lineup. Always verify the tow rating on the door sticker or window label for the specific truck you're considering.

Question 3

Is the Ford F-150 available with 4-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The F-150 is available in both 4x2 (rear-wheel drive) and 4x4 configurations. Most 4x4 F-150s use Ford's electronic shift-on-the-fly 4WD system, which allows switching between 2H, 4A (automatic), 4H, and 4L without stopping. The Raptor uses a more capable terrain management system with additional off-road drive modes.

Question 4

What engine options are in the used F-150 market?

Accepted Answer

Common engines in the used F-150 market include the 3.5L EcoBoost V6, 2.7L EcoBoost V6, 5.0L Coyote V8, and the naturally aspirated 3.3L V6 base engine. The 3.5L EcoBoost is the most popular choice for buyers who want a balance of towing capacity and fuel efficiency. The 5.0L V8 remains popular for buyers who prefer a traditional naturally aspirated engine.
